5th & 6th Grade Holiday Concert

 When: Thursday, December 16th
Location: High School Cafetorium
Performance Time: 6:00pm
Student Meeting Time: 5:30pm

Concert Uniform:​ Blue band polo shirt (see order form below), black pants, black socks, black shoes

​*Band Families are asked to contribute one baked item to the
bake sale fundraiser that will be held before and after the concer

What Instruments Can I Play in 6th Grade Band?

Flute
Clarinet
Alto Saxophone
Trumpet
Trombone
Baritone
Percussion

Materials Needed

• Instrument 
• Standard of Excellence - Book 1 
• Music Stand (keep at home)
• Clarinets & Saxophones - 1 box of VanDoren Reeds - Strength 2 1/2
• Trumpets, Baritones, Trombones - Valve/Slide oil & Slide grease
• Cleaning Kit (recommended not required)

Please email Ms. Yettaw if you did not receive an information packet at the open house or from your student after the first day of school.

Practice Makes Perfect!
(or gets us as close as possible...)

Practice sheets are due on Fridays ( through Google Classroom) and will account for 10% of a student's grade. 

6th Grade Band students are required to practice a minimum of 120 minutes per week

Practice is most effective when it is spread throughout the week - i.e. 30 minute practice sessions 4 days a week 

Students are most successful when they have the right tools for practice including: 

• A place set aside for practice​
  
• Music stand
  
• A chair that will help them sit with good posture
• Parental support and encouragement...and a listening ear! :)
